FirstHouse Mizonokuchi HouseParty with Tamagawa Firework Festival!!

FirstHouse Mizonokuchi HouseParty with Tamagawa Firework Festival!!

Hi everyone!

This is Kiyoshi from Interwhao!

September was a pretty gloomy month, with record-breaking rainfall and seemingly endless rainy days. It was the kind of weather that could bring anyone’s mood down a little.

With so many gray days, it was hard to get into a positive groove. How did you all spend your September?

Now that October is here, we’re finally starting to feel a little more of that autumn vibe!

And speaking of October, we have some exciting news to share!

Our annual Tamagawa Fireworks Festival House Event at First House Mizonokuchi was a huge success, and I’m here to give you a little peek at how it all went!

The Tamagawa Fireworks Festival takes place in early October every year, and our Mizonokuchi properties at Interwhao hold a special house event to celebrate.

Unfortunately, the weather hasn’t been on our side for the past few years, even when the festival went ahead. After all that record-breaking rain this September, we couldn’t help wondering what this year would bring…

And then the big day finally arrived…

Believe it or not, we got a perfectly clear sky with not a single cloud in sight!

Everyone, including myself, had been looking forward to this day, so you can imagine the excitement! After so many rainy days, we were absolutely thrilled to see the sunshine again.

Time to get this party started! First up: a shopping trip to pick up supplies for the event!

As always, some of our residents kindly volunteered to help with the shopping. It really makes a difference, so a huge thank-you to everyone who pitched in!

Honestly, it felt more like a little field trip than a shopping run.

And of course, someone had to try their luck asking for a few extras…

Nice try, but NO!

Time to Set Up!

Once we got back, it was time to transform the space into our event venue.

We also made sure to decorate for one of our residents who was celebrating a birthday. After all, what’s a party without a little birthday surprise?

And with everything ready to go, it was finally time to kick things off!

Fireworks from the Best Seat in the House!

First on the agenda was the main attraction of the day: the Tamagawa Fireworks Festival!

We headed up to the rooftop of our property to enjoy the show, and what a view it was!

Around 12,000 fireworks lit up the night sky over the course of an hour. Watching them from our very own rooftop felt like having VIP seats to the whole show.

The view was absolutely incredible!

Meanwhile, here are a few of the boys whose concentration seemed to have wandered off somewhere…

And Now, the REAL Main Event… BBQ Time!

After the fireworks came my personal highlight of the evening: a big BBQ party with everyone!

But first, let’s raise our glasses and make a toast!

The rooftop was so spacious that we hadn’t quite realized just how many people had gathered. But once everyone came together in the living room, we could really see the size of the crowd!

Cheers, everyone!

Outside, our staff were already hard at work manning the BBQ grills.

And let me tell you, they could barely keep up with the demand!

The food just kept coming, but the hungry crowd kept coming back for more. What can I say? Good food brings people together!

Looks delicious, doesn’t it?

While enjoying the food, everyone had plenty of opportunities to chat, mingle, and get to know one another.

As always, this was a joint event for Mizonokuchi A and Mizonokuchi B, so it was great to see residents from both houses connecting and making new friends.

Seeing everyone mix and mingle across the two properties is one of the best parts of hosting these events!

The excitement was everywhere, both inside and outside!

Some people were enjoying a more laid-back evening, too. Looking pretty cool there, aren’t you?

Personally, I got to catch up with so many different people and have some great conversations. Before I knew it, the evening had flown by!

Say Cheese! Time for Group Photos!

First up, a group shot with everyone from Mizonokuchi A!

And now, Mizonokuchi B!

And finally, let’s get EVERYONE together for one big group photo!

60 People, One Amazing Night!

Believe it or not, around 60 people joined us for the event!

No wonder our BBQ crew could barely keep up with all that meat to grill!

But honestly, seeing so many people come together, enjoy the event, and connect with one another made all the hard work worthwhile.

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a memorable one!

And the fun doesn’t stop here!

With Halloween and Christmas just around the corner, we have plenty more celebrations to look forward to. We’ll be organizing more house events, so stay tuned!

Looking for a Place to Meet People from Around the World?

Both First House Mizonokuchi 100+a and First House Mizonokuchi 100+b have an international community, with approximately 60% of residents coming from overseas.

If you’re looking to improve your English, make international friends, or simply experience life in a multicultural community, these houses could be a great fit for you!

And if you’re coming to Japan for the first time, living in a shared house can make settling into a new country feel much less overwhelming. Having people around means there’s always someone nearby to talk to, ask for advice, or lend a helping hand when you need it.

It’s a great way to build connections, discover different cultures, and make your time in Japan even more memorable.

Who knows? Your next great friendship might start right here at First House Mizonokuchi!

We hope to see you at our next house event!

Until next time!
