New Year Party @ Firsthouse Minami Urawa♪
A Happy New Year, all!!
Today’s report is about a regular, yearly event at “Firsthouse Minami Urawa“: a New Year Party♪♪
The first thing is to go shopping with the residents to get ingridients for cooking!!
I always try to ask the residents in advance like,”What you are up for eating?”. The answer of this time was mostly vegetables!! So, we purchased lots of veggies!!
Back to the share house, yes, it’s time for cooking!!
Waited until everyone came along, then it’s time for “Kampai” (meaning, “Cheers”)!!
Also, we practiced calligraphy!! (In our tradition, we do calligraphy at the beginning of the year, usually writing a favorite word or a new year resolution.)
Everybody wrote their own “words”, coming up to their mind.＾＾
For the most of the residents, it seemed like a new experience!!
One of the mates asked me like, “What word should I write down?” So, I answered, “Whatever word that you know”. He ended up writing “犬”, meaning “dog”. lol
Here at “Firsthouse Minami Urawa“, not many but not a few people participate in our event. They are from various countries, enjoying the cozy atmosphere and international exchanges. That is what I’m always happy about!!＾＾
The last year was a little busy in renovating the house. But, thanks to the helps from friendly, cooperative residents here, we managed to hold a party successfully, and also the atmosphere in the house became awesome!!
It was a really good start on the New Year by drinking with them and laughing a lot.＾＾
I hope that I get to know many people this year as well!!
