Hello, Ou-san. Thank you for taking time.

Ou-san:Not at all!

Your Japanese is pretty good.

Ou-san: Yes, I have studied Japanese since when I was high school student and I graduated graduate schoo in Kyoto this year.

イメージ

Wow, now I’m so nervous.

Ou-san: You don’t have to be so nervous. What can I answer today?

Well, I’d like to ask you why you chose Miyamaedaira.

Ou-san: I found here on the internet. The rent is cheap and good access to Tokyo area. Cheap initial fees are the reason I moved in.

イメージ

The reason of cheap rent is small size of a room. Don’t you feel it?

Ou-san: Right, you can find the same rent with bigger room in Kyoto. But as you know, room size enough for one person living. When I’m in a room, I often watch TV or use internet. Also, I’m not usually at home, so…

Where do you go?

Ou-san: I like Shibuya and Shinjuku.

イメージ

24 min from Miyamaedaira to Shibuya, right?

Ou-san: Yes, about 30 min.

Do you cook? There are beef bowl shop and ramen shop around here.

Ou-san: I don’t cook often. Also, I don’t eat out at Miyamaedaira. I like eating out in Shibuya. If it is the same price, I prefer Shibuya.

イメージ

I see. That’s right for young people.

Ou-san: Is it going to be different as you get old?

Yes, it’s kind of troublesome or annoying to go out to the metropolitan area in Tokyo. I prefer to go to neighboring bar. Do you know how I feel?

Ou-san: Not yet…

イメージ

Well, never mind. I think it is great to study Japanese since high school and graduate graduate school. What’s your motivation or goal?

Ou-san: I’m just doing what I want to do. Lol When I was an elementary school student, I watched Japanese anime “Saint Seiya” and ” Slum Dunk”. Then I became interested in Japanese juvenile literature. Then I started to study Japanese. And then, I became interested in Japanese sub-culture and I felt I want to study in Japan. I’m just doing what I want to do.

イメージ

So you are working hard for your goal, don’t you?

Ou-san:”Woking hard” in Japanese means “Force myself to work harder than I could” or “Over do”, I guess… I don’t know how to express it in Japanese but I mean “Enjoy now”. Not only that but also “No regret”and “No look back”.

イメージ

Interesting. "Woking hard" in Japanese may be a little different from another country.

Ou-san: What I want to do is not the goal for me but the process, I guess.
"I want to study" is not the goal. Then as I was doing what I want to do, I graduated school. So, I just want to enjoy "working hard" now.

Is there any problem at this house?

Ou-san: This house is very free than I have expected. Before I moved in, I felt that it might be troublesome in terms of relationship in the house. The real is that people don’t make any troubles to others and I could feel free here. I could have precious time and sometimes talk with tenants. Good balance.

Last question. Please give the message to the viewer of this page.

Ou-san: Please don’t expect too much. Life of sharedhouse and other things depend on you. You can choose the sharedhouse because of the cheap rent but if you have something that you want to do, it will be more fun to live in.

We interviewed Ou-san who moved in 2 month ago. Thank you for showing the room and telling the story. She said she eats out often but let’s hold the party at this house. We hope we could eat her original cuisuine. Firsthouse Miyamaedaira is along Dennentoshi Line, and the cheapest room in this area. A room size is 4.5 tatami mats but it is enough for one person living in. In terms of initial fees, access to Tokyo, and the rent, we really recommend this house.

Miyamaedaira

4 min walk to convenience store. 9 min walk to Don Quixote, discount shop. Very convenient place to go to Miyamaedaira station and Miyazakidai station. There are two supermarkets in front of Miyazakidai station, rental shop, and fitness gym. Also, there is a used book store for those who like reading. Firsthose Miyamaedaira is 7 min walk from the nearest station, and 25 min train to Shibuya.(This is very popular property but the building cannot be repaired because of the property owner’s decision Compared to a room at this area, Firsthouse Miyamaedira is 10,000 yen cheaper every month, and more than 200,001yen cheaper for initial fees. Please make up mind to move in after viewing in advance
